The Pauper's Child(1999)

The Pauper's Child is a Vietnamese drama following Luu, a seventeen-year-old girl whose life fractures after assault by her master. When her resulting pregnancy threatens his reputation, he seizes her family's land and casts them out. Desperate and displaced, Luu's family relocates to Bac Lieu with Cu, a compassionate farmer who marries her and offers a chance at rebuilding.
