Firehouse(1974)
Firehouse is an American drama series that aired on ABC in early 1974, following the five-man crew of Engine Company 23 in Los Angeles. Led by Captain Spike Ryerson, played by James Drury in his first major role after nine seasons on The Virginian, the firefighters tackle daily emergencies across the inner-city station. The series balances action with human stakes: rescuing residents from burning buildings, confronting negligent landlords, and performing life-saving interventions. Inspired by the bestselling memoir Report From Engine Co. 82 by FDNY fireman Dennis Smith and capitalizing on the success of Emergency!, Firehouse captures the danger and camaraderie of frontline fire rescue. Each episode showcases the crew's bravery as they risk their lives to protect their community.
