Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? is a British sitcom that aired on BBC1 from 1973 to 1974. A colour sequel to the 1960s hit The Likely Lads, it reunited the original cast as Bob and Terry navigated adulthood in a changing Britain. Created by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, the show ran for 26 episodes across two series, plus a Christmas special. The comedy captured the warmth and humour of working-class friendship, mixing nostalgia with contemporary anxieties. Though a 1976 film followed and a radio adaptation aired in 1975, the show's legacy was complicated by a falling out between leads Rodney Bewes and James Bolam that lasted decades. Despite occasional revivals, Bolam's reluctance to revisit the role kept the pair from reuniting on screen.
