Great Expectations is a period drama following orphan Pip as he learns from lawyer Mr. Jaggers that a mysterious benefactor will fund his transformation into a gentleman. Reunited with his childhood patron Miss Havisham and her ward Estella—the beautiful, emotionally distant woman he loves—Pip uncovers a darker truth: Miss Havisham, abandoned at the altar decades earlier, has descended into madness and deliberately shaped Estella into a heartless instrument of revenge. As Pip navigates the demands of his new life and his impossible feelings for Estella, he must reckon with the consequences of ambition, the nature of true gentility, and the damage wrought by bitterness and obsession. The story explores whether love and redemption can survive in a world built on deception and wounded pride.
