An Istanbul Tale is a 71-episode Turkish drama set in Istanbul, following two wealthy brothers, Selim and Demir Arhan, who live with their parents in a sprawling family home. Esma, the spirited daughter of the family's cook Suzanne, has harbored a secret crush on the younger brother Demir since childhood, following his every move in magazines and society pages. When she sneaks into the family's annual spring party to catch a glimpse of him, a mishap leaves her injured—and brings her into closer contact with Selim instead. As Esma navigates failed auditions and unrequited feelings, a misunderstanding involving Demir and a drunken night leads to scandal. To protect the family's reputation, Selim offers her a coveted training position at Arhan Industries, Turkey's largest corporation, setting in motion a complex web of emotions and social tension that drives the series forward.
