The Electric Company(1971)
The Electric Company is an educational children's series that aired on PBS from 1971 to 1977, produced by the Children's Television Workshop. Spanning six seasons and 780 episodes, the show used sketch comedy and fast-paced entertainment to teach elementary school children grammar and reading skills. Designed as a natural progression from Sesame Street, The Electric Company featured more sophisticated humor aimed at slightly older viewers. The series ran for six seasons before entering reruns that continued through 1985, cementing its place as a foundational program in American educational television.
