Once a Cop...(1987)

Once a Cop is a Danish crime series following Karl Jørgensen, a disgraced detective now stuck checking passports at the airport, nursing stout from his thermos. When his daughter's boyfriend is killed by heroin-dealing gangsters, Karl's carefully buried rage resurfaces. The boyfriend had been informing on the gang for Karl's brother Frank, who's currently imprisoned on a drug smuggling charge he didn't commit. Frank escapes prison seeking revenge, while the same criminals threaten Karl's daughter. As Frank and an accomplice rob a bank and shoot a cop, a nationwide manhunt ignites. Karl finds himself caught between his daughter's dangerous vigilante impulses, the criminal investigation, his own alcoholism, and a desperate need to identify his daughter's boyfriend's killers. Duty and family collide as his past finally catches up.
