Chiritotechin(2007)

Chiritotechin is the 77th NHK Asadora, a Japanese television series set in Fukui Prefecture. The story follows Wada Kiyomi, a young woman who leaves her hometown in search of purpose and discovers rakugo, the traditional art of comic storytelling, in Osaka. When her family relocates to Obama in the summer of 1982, Kiyomi returns to her father's ancestral home, where tensions simmer over the family's lacquer chopstick-making business. Her grandfather Shotaro refuses to let her father take over the craft, but a chance encounter with rakugo at his factory sparks an unexpected bond between them. As Kiyomi pursues her passion for this ancient narrative art form, she navigates family expectations and personal ambition in this intimate portrait of tradition, generational conflict, and artistic awakening.
