Ouro Verde is a Portuguese drama series following Zé Maria Magalhães, a young man whose life is shattered by banker Miguel Ferreira da Fonseca's ruthless greed. Forced into exile and a false identity, Zé Maria spends fifteen years building a vast agricultural empire in Brazil under the name Jorge Monforte, becoming one of the country's wealthiest men. Consumed by thoughts of revenge, he loses his moral compass and capacity for love. When he finally returns to Portugal, Jorge is determined to destroy the man who destroyed him, setting in motion a tale of ambition, vengeance, and the cost of obsession.
