I'm Taking the Day Off is a Japanese romantic comedy series about Hanae Aoishi, a 30-year-old office worker who has never missed a day of work in her life. After a drunken night at a company party, she wakes up next to Yuto Tanokura, a charming university student nine years her junior, with no memory of what happened. Confused and flustered, Hanae takes her first day off ever. Determined to break free from her rigid routine, she decides to date Yuto despite their age gap. Complications arise when Yu Asao, a charismatic CEO from a neighbouring company, develops romantic feelings for her. Caught between two very different men, Hanae navigates love, self-discovery, and the messy reality of stepping outside her comfort zone for the first time.
