The Rich and Lazarus(2017)

The Rich and Lazarus is a biblical drama that follows the Hebrew people's spiritual decline after Joshua's death, as they abandon God to worship pagan idols. When the prophet Jeremiah warns against this apostasy, his own people reject him as a traitor and false prophet. His dire predictions materialize with the invasion of King Nebuchadnezzar II and Queen Amytis. Woven through this historical reckoning is a personal love triangle: childhood friends Joana, Zac, and Asher grow into adulthood as Zac and Asher both develop feelings for Joana. She returns only Asher's affection, adding emotional tension to the larger story of faith, judgment, and consequence.
