Show Me the Way, Ixabel(2007)

Show Me the Way, Ixabel is a Spanish-language series set in rural Basque Country during the summer of 1978. Juan Martin, a young man from San Sebastian, arrives at a farmhouse in the Tolosan countryside to attend a language school and perfect his Basque. There he encounters Ixabel, a beautiful local woman, and the two form a connection that will test both their hearts and their sense of place. Adapted from the 2006 film, the series captures the tension between tradition and desire in a transformative moment of Spanish history, when the Basque region was reclaiming its language and identity after decades of suppression. What begins as a summer of study becomes something far more complicated and intimate.
