Catchphrase(1986)

Catchphrase is a British game show that challenges contestants to identify familiar phrases from animated clues set to music. The original series ran on ITV from 1986 to 2002, hosted by Roy Walker, followed by Nick Weir and Mark Curry. Players watched animated sequences featuring the show's mascot, a golden robot named Mr. Chips, and had to guess the catchphrase each clip represented. The format proved enduring: when Stephen Mulhern revived the show in 2013, it retained the core concept but expanded to three contestants competing per round. The revival's immediate success led to recommissioning, cementing Catchphrase as a durable fixture of British game show entertainment.
