Innocent Days(2018)

Innocent Days is a Japanese drama series following Sasaki Shinichi as he watches his childhood friend Tanaka Yukino receive a death sentence for a devastating arson attack at her ex-boyfriend's apartment that killed his wife and child. Convinced of Yukino's innocence despite the verdict, Shinichi embarks on a desperate quest to uncover the truth and save her from execution. He reconnects with people from Yukino's past—her sister, former classmates, and others who knew her—piecing together fragments of her life to challenge the court's judgment. The series explores themes of loyalty, justice, and the gap between legal conviction and actual guilt, as Shinichi races against time to prove what he believes in his heart: that his oldest friend is innocent.
