86 EIGHTY-SIX is a military sci-fi anime series set in a world divided by war. The Republic of San Magnolia deploys unmanned combat drones called Juggernauts to fight the Legion—autonomous weapons fielded by the neighboring Empire of Giad. The catch: these drones aren't truly unmanned. They're piloted by the Eighty-sixers, a marginalized group treated as subhuman and expendable. Shin commands Spearhead Squadron, an elite unit of Eighty-sixers locked in a brutal, seemingly unwinnable conflict. Driven by hidden motives, Shin pushes forward despite the grim reality that death waits on every battlefield. The series explores themes of sacrifice, identity, and resistance against a system that denies the humanity of those it uses as weapons.
