Red Forest is a Latvian drama set in 1949, following the Soviet occupation of the Baltic States. When British intelligence MI6 begins investigating conditions in occupied Latvia, a young man named Wittold becomes entangled in the national resistance movement. Working alongside other Latvians, Wittold and his nurse fiancée Velta had been saving to emigrate to America and build a life together. But when Wittold joins a dangerous covert mission, his personal dreams collide with the larger struggle for his country's freedom. The series explores the tension between individual ambition and collective resistance, capturing a pivotal moment when ordinary people faced impossible choices between safety and sacrifice.
