Black August(1993)

Black August is a Brazilian crime series set during the Vargas government crisis. When businessman Paulo Gomes de Aguiar is murdered in early August, the case lands with police commissioner Alberto Mattos, an honest and incorruptible investigator despised by his corrupt colleagues. As Mattos pursues the truth, he navigates a police force riddled with graft and betrayal, where integrity isolates him from those around him. The murder investigation becomes a collision between one man's principles and a system designed to protect the guilty. Mattos must uncover who killed Aguiar while fighting against the institutional corruption that threatens to bury the case entirely.
