Hiwou War Chronicles(2000)

Hiwou War Chronicles is a steampunk anime series set in an alternate 19th-century Japan transformed by Western technology. Eight years after foreign contact, mechanized dolls and steam-powered inventions have reshaped the nation. The Wind Gang, a violent faction of doll users, seeks to accelerate Japan's industrial revolution through destruction and conquest. When they obliterate Hiwou's peaceful village, the young doll user escapes with his friends and a colossal doll called Homura. Driven by loss and determination, Hiwou embarks on a quest to reunite with his missing father—the key to stopping the Wind Gang and restoring peace to his homeland. The series blends action, adventure, and historical reimagining as Hiwou navigates a world where ancient traditions clash with mechanical progress.
