Alpha Beta(2015)

Alpha Beta is a 2015 Chinese web series that explores mental illness through the intertwined lives of a psychiatrist and her patients. Based on Gao Ming's 2010 novel "Genius on the Left, Lunatic on the Right," the drama follows Li Shi Hui, a psychiatrist who begins experiencing severe headaches and hallucinations while treating her cousin Tian Xin. Tian Xin, rendered mute after a car accident just before her wedding, unexpectedly discovers a gift for calming volatile patients during her time at Shi Hui's facility. Together, the two women work to help troubled patients confront their traumatic pasts and internal struggles. Starring Jordan Chan, Alan Kuo, Stephy Tang, and Cherrie Ying, Alpha Beta examines the fragile boundary between healer and patient, offering a compassionate look at mental health treatment and human resilience.
