Faking It(2000)

Faking It is a British reality series that originated on Channel 4, built around a deceptively simple premise: ordinary people undergo dramatic transformations to master entirely new identities. Devised by Stephen Lambert, the show draws inspiration from George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, exploring whether someone can convincingly reinvent themselves through intensive training and coaching. Each episode follows a different "faker" as they attempt to fool experts and the public by adopting a completely unfamiliar skill or persona. The series proved influential enough to spawn international remakes, including a notable American adaptation on TLC. The final episode, which aired on Boxing Day 2006, featured cleaner Sharon Pallister transforming into a burlesque performer, with appearances from Wayne Sleep, Miss Immodesty Blaize, and Dita von Teese.
