HaZvi is a historical drama set in late 19th-century Jerusalem, following Fruma Tsipis, a 20-year-old idealist caught between her family's Zionist convictions and her own revolutionary sympathies. The daughter of a wealthy, devout family, Fruma secretly dreams of returning to Odessa to join her lover in the socialist movement, rejecting what she sees as her parents' narrow faith. Desperate to redirect her, her parents arrange for her to work at Eliezer Ben Yehuda's Hebrew newspaper, believing his mission to revive the Hebrew language will inspire her. Instead, Fruma finds herself drawn to Eliezer himself. As their connection deepens, she begins to question her rigid ideology and confront the real human cost of her convictions, discovering that idealism without compassion can wound those around her.
