Identity(2010)

Identity is a British police procedural drama starring Aidan Gillen and Keeley Hawes. The series follows detectives investigating cases of identity theft across the UK. Created and written by Ed Whitmore, who previously worked on BBC's Waking the Dead and ITV's acclaimed He Kills Coppers, Identity aired on ITV in summer 2010. The show's tense, contemporary take on fraud and criminal deception resonated enough to attract international attention—ABC Network acquired remake rights and developed an American version. Despite critical interest, ITV cancelled Identity after one series in October 2010, leaving the British original as a standalone crime drama that explored the dark consequences of stolen identities in modern society.
