Patria is a Spanish drama series that examines the Basque conflict through the eyes of two women whose lives have been fractured by violence and ideology. After the 2011 ceasefire between ETA and the Spanish government, a widow returns to her village—a place where her husband was killed by the separatist group. There she confronts her former closest friend, whose son sits in prison for his role in the organization.
