Pulaski
Pulaski(1987)
Pulaski is a 1987 British television comedy-drama that parodies detective shows. Created by Roy Clarke, the series follows Larry Summers, an American actor cast as the lead in a British detective series called Pulaski, who becomes entangled in genuine criminal cases. Alongside his on-screen partner Kate Smith, who plays his sidekick Briggsy, Summers blurs the line between his fictional role and real-world investigations. The show's clever premise plays with the conventions of the detective genre, mixing scripted drama with unexpected reality. The Shadows performed the memorable theme music. With its witty take on television tropes and fish-out-of-water humour, Pulaski offers a fresh spin on the detective drama formula that defined British television in the 1980s.
