Rector follows Lavrik, a brilliant but deeply anxious biochemistry researcher who has spent years developing a cure for fear—mostly his own. At a prestigious Russian research institute, Lavrik struggles with paralyzing anxiety about his work, his domineering mother, romance, and institutional change. When the long-serving rector steps down, Lavrik emerges as the unexpected successor to lead the Bogomolov Institute.
