Shtisel(2013)

Shtisel is an Israeli drama series set in Jerusalem's ultra-Orthodox Geula neighborhood. A year after their mother's death, father Shulem and son Akiva share a small balcony overlooking the bustling streets below, their days filled with bickering, reconciliation, and dark humor about life and faith. The other children have moved away, leaving the two men to navigate grief and routine together. Everything shifts when Akiva meets Elisheva, a woman whose arrival disrupts their insular world and forces both men to confront their deepest desires and obligations. The series explores family bonds, tradition, and the tension between personal longing and religious duty with warmth and unflinching honesty.
