The Sword(1980)

The Sword is a historical drama set during China's Ming Dynasty, where corruption runs deep among the ruling elite. When Sima Shuangcheng, an official desperate to pay tribute to the corrupt minister Yan Song, orchestrates robberies across neighboring fiefs, the scheme turns brutal—villagers are slaughtered to cover the crimes. Ye Lanling, a former official living in exile, discovers the truth and emerges from retirement to confront Shuangcheng. The series follows their collision as Lanling fights to expose the conspiracy and restore justice in a system poisoned by greed and power.
