Unexpected(2018)

Unexpected is a Chinese fantasy series following He Jie, a manga artist who gets pulled into his own comic creation, "Crystal Love." Trapped inside the story, he must rehabilitate the antagonistic second female lead and transform her into a better person to escape back to reality. As He Jie repeatedly patches plot holes in his own narrative, he finds himself caught in an unexpectedly romantic entanglement. The series blends comedy with fantasy elements as the artist navigates the blurred line between fiction and reality, discovering that controlling a story is far harder than creating one.
