Zokko!
Zokko!(1968)
Zokko! was a British children's television series that aired Saturday mornings on the BBC between 1968 and 1970. Created by veteran producer Molly Cox, the show blended animations, film clips, magic tricks, and narrated cartoons into a fast-paced format. Its unique hook was Zokko itself—a talking pinball machine that served as the programme's presenter, introducing segments and rating them in a robotic voice with scores like "Zokko, Score 7." The series is credited as the first televised children's comic, pioneering a playful, rapid-fire style that influenced children's programming. Sadly, only one complete episode survives in the BBC archives alongside compilation highlights, making Zokko! a largely lost piece of British television history.
