Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of NeedToWatch (“the Service”) — the website at needtowatch.net and the NeedToWatch mobile app — operated by Samet Kabakcı. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 where local law requires it) to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for the activity on your account.
• Keep your credentials confidential. Email [email protected] immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
• One account per person. We may terminate duplicate or sock-puppet accounts.
• You can delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Post content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise prohibited by applicable law.
• Harass, threaten, dox or impersonate other users.
• Spam, scrape, automate, or attempt to interfere with the Service's normal operation.
• Bypass technical access controls, rate limits or content moderation.
• Reuse the Service's catalog data outside the Service (TMDB terms apply to the underlying data).

Repeated or severe violations get accounts suspended or terminated.

4. User-generated content

You retain ownership of the posts, stories, reviews, comments, collections and other content you create on the Service (“User Content”). By submitting User Content you grant NeedToWatch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reformat, transcode and surface it within the Service — solely to operate, promote and improve the Service. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for backup copies pending purge and content that has been re-shared by others (which lives on with those users until they delete it).

You confirm you have all rights and consents needed to publish any User Content. You are responsible for what you post.

5. Catalog data (TMDB)

Film and TV metadata (titles, posters, ratings, cast, descriptions) is sourced from The Movie Database. We may rewrite descriptions for SEO and clarity, but the underlying facts remain attributable to TMDB. We comply with TMDB's API terms; you must too if you interact with catalog endpoints.

6. Advertising

The Service is supported by advertising — see the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for how ads are served. You agree not to obstruct or programmatically block ad units while using the Service in ways that breach these Terms (manual ad-blocker use in your browser is your call, but the Service may degrade some features in response).

7. Reports and moderation

Use the in-app report flow to flag content that breaches §3. We review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts at our sole discretion. Decisions are final, but you can appeal by emailing [email protected] within 14 days.

8. Intellectual property

The NeedToWatch name, logo, design, code and aggregations are protected by intellectual property law. You may not use them outside the Service without prior written permission. Catalog data belongs to TMDB; User Content belongs to its respective authors (§4).

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available, error-free, or secure at all times.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither NeedToWatch nor its operator will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data or goodwill. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) ten US dollars (USD 10) or (b) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim — typically zero, since the Service is free to use.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or applicable law, or if continued operation creates legal risk for the Service.

12. Changes to the Service / Terms

We may modify the Service and these Terms over time. Material changes to the Terms will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of İstanbul, Türkiye. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply where they offer broader rights.
