Deadlock(1969)

Deadlock is a crime thriller centered on a city teetering on the brink of violence. When a journalist is murdered shortly after the deaths of a black teenager and a white cop, tensions reach a breaking point. Lieutenant Sam Danforth and District Attorney Leslie Washburn must work together to catch the killer before the city erupts into riot. Their investigation is complicated by mutual distrust and clashing approaches to procedure. As they race against time, personal friction threatens to derail their pursuit of justice. The film explores how prejudice and institutional conflict can undermine the very systems meant to protect a divided community.
