Family(2001)
Family is a drama about a dying mother who gathers her relatives to an isolated Austrian chalet in the snow-covered mountains. What begins as a final gathering quickly unravels as old resentments surface and family bonds fracture under the weight of quarrels and mounting tension. Confined together by winter weather and proximity, the family members confront buried grievances and the painful reality of their disconnection. The alpine setting amplifies their isolation, forcing each character to reckon with decades of hurt and misunderstanding. As days pass, the fragile civility that held them together dissolves, revealing the deep rifts that separate them. Family explores how proximity and mortality can strip away pretense, leaving only raw emotion and the question of whether some bonds can ever truly be repaired.
