The Girl in the Snow(2025)

The Girl in the Snow is a period drama set in 1899 Alpine France, following Aimée, a Republican schoolteacher who arrives in a remote, snowbound hamlet determined to challenge the villagers' superstitious traditions. Despite initial suspicion from the close-knit community, she gradually integrates into their isolated world. As Aimée grows closer to the locals and uncovers their shadowy customs, she finds herself drawn into an intoxicating psychological spiral. The film explores themes of enlightenment versus tradition, faith and desire, set against the austere beauty of a mountain village gripped by winter and secrets. Aimée's mission to bring reason and progress collides with forces—both human and cultural—that resist her influence, creating mounting tension between her ideals and the darker impulses awakening within her.
