Saandrithazh(2023)

Saandrithazh is a film about Karuvarai, a utopian village where self-discipline, honesty, and hard work form the foundation of daily life. Crime is virtually nonexistent, and the community has earned recognition as a model settlement. When local politicians attempt to interfere in the village's autonomous way of functioning, tensions escalate. The villagers' principled refusal to compromise their values—even rejecting a prestigious award to maintain independence—draws the ire of powerful figures who resent their lack of control. The film explores the clash between a community built on integrity and the pressures of political ambition, examining what it takes to preserve an idealistic society against external corruption and interference.
