Golden Horns(1973)

Golden Horns is a Russian fairy tale film about a magical deer with golden antlers who guards the forest and its inhabitants. When twin sisters Mashenka and Dashenka venture into the woods after witnessing robbers hunt the creature, they're ensnared by forest spirits and cursed by the witch Baba Yaga, transformed into fawns. Their mother Yevdokya receives a magical ring as reward for protecting the deer, but the red sun and clear moon cannot penetrate the enchanted forest to break the spell. Desperate to save his mother and sisters, the family's young son sets out on a perilous journey accompanied only by his cat. Golden Horns blends Russian folklore with adventure and magic, exploring themes of courage, family, and good triumphing over evil in a mystical woodland realm.
