The Girl from the Wardrobe(2013)

The Girl from the Wardrobe is a Polish drama about three isolated souls—brothers Tomek and Jacek, and their neighbor Magda—each trapped in their own form of loneliness. Magda withdraws into seclusion, Tomek struggles with a neurological condition that distances him from the world, and Jacek exists primarily through the internet. Yet the film explores how love bridges their isolation: the bond between brothers, and the tentative connections that form between damaged people. Director Sławomir Fabicki crafts a deeply human story about alienation and connection, grounded in Polish life but speaking to universal experiences of longing and belonging.
