According to the narrative, Soviet scientists and military engineers launched the first crewed spacecraft in the 1930s, nearly a quarter-century ahead of the official record. The film chronicles the lives, achievements, and tragedies of these pioneering cosmonauts, blending archival footage, interviews, and dramatized sequences to construct an alternate history of the space race.
