Diagnóza smrti is a Czech drama that intertwines the fates of two hospital patients. Truck driver Honza Linhart arrives after a devastating accident that costs him his only kidney. The same day, a woman named Katerina Marková is admitted unconscious after being found in the forest, apparently the victim of a violent mugging. Major Kalas investigates the crime, finding a bloodstained ax and missing jewelry at the scene. As Linhart's survival depends on a kidney transplant, a grim possibility emerges: Marková could be his donor—if she doesn't survive. The film explores the moral tension between two lives hanging in the balance, where one man's hope for recovery is shadowed by another's tragedy.
