Rockers(2003)

Rockers follows a struggling Japanese rock band whose members each carry their own quirks and insecurities. Guitarist Ko-chan battles sexual repression rooted in childhood trauma, bassist Gaku-chan battles stage fright, and drummer Momo-chan bears the marks of failed teenage tattoos. When Jin's father destroys his Stratocaster, the band is forced to recruit a new guitarist. Enter Tani, a leather-clad, sunglasses-wearing virtuoso inseparable from his black Les Paul, who embodies everything the band aspires to be. As Tani's presence transforms the group's dynamic, Jin gradually recognizes him as the band's true hero rather than himself. The film blends comedy with coming-of-age themes, capturing the messy reality of pursuing rock stardom while grappling with personal demons and self-doubt.
