The Street Smarts(1979)

The Street Smarts is a Greek crime drama following Babis, a man freshly released from prison who struggles to navigate life between his old criminal connections in Piraeus and the relentless surveillance of police determined to keep him behind bars. When he attempts to sell Byzantine icons crafted by a fellow inmate, he's arrested again. Released after the icons prove worthless, Babis discovers a painful truth: his own mother tipped off the authorities, hoping to steer him away from crime. Caught between loyalty to his street life and his mother's desperate intervention, he faces an impossible choice about who he wants to become.
