Midnight... Quai de Bercy(1953)

Midnight... Quai de Bercy is a French crime film following Irène Cazenave, a widow whose husband was a prominent police officer. Recently settled in her new apartment, Irène is drawn into investigating the murder of the building's provocative concierge when a colleague pressures her to help. As suspects parade through the narrative, a darker truth emerges: Irène herself killed the janitor, forced by blackmail into the act. The film builds toward a tragic conclusion as the weight of her secret becomes unbearable.
