Day Break(2005)

Day Break is a documentary film shot inside Tehran's century-old prison that examines capital punishment under Islamic law in Iran. Based on true stories, it follows Mansour, a man convicted of murder awaiting execution. Under Iranian law, the victim's family holds power over the offender's fate—and they repeatedly fail to appear on scheduled execution days, leaving Mansour in a state of psychological limbo. As postponements accumulate, he exists in a suspended space between life and death, caught between retribution and the possibility of forgiveness.
