In 2220 A.D., a rogue black hole threatens to obliterate the solar system, forcing Earth's government to evacuate humanity to the distant planet Amare. When the S.U.S. Empire attacks the first evacuation fleet, Captain Yuki Mori-Kodai vanishes in the chaos. Her husband Susumu Kodai, estranged from their daughter Miyuki over the tragedy, accepts command of the legendary space battleship Yamato—fully restored and ready for battle. Kodai sees the mission as a chance to save humanity and reunite with his lost wife, hoping to repair his fractured family. But the SUS Empire stands in his way, determined to harvest Earth's energy for themselves and crush humanity's last hope for survival.
