Scythe Hitting Stone(2017)

Scythe Hitting Stone is a Russian drama set in 2000, during the final years of the post-Soviet era in the province of Ivanovo. The Mironovich family gathers to mourn their youngest son Andrej, killed in war. His older brother Anton honors Andrej's last wish by riding his motorcycle through the city at dawn. Parallel to this grief, Vika—who loves Anton—is assaulted after a disco. The trauma spirals outward when her mother commits a senseless act of violence at home. The film explores how tragedy fractures a community where blame becomes impossible to assign, capturing a moment of profound moral and social collapse in post-Soviet Russia.
