Timeless Melody(2000)

Timeless Melody is a Japanese drama about Kawamoto, who works and lives in a run-down pool hall that doubles as a rehearsal space he shares with his friend Chikako. The two seem content to pass their days in quiet routine. When an aging pool shark encounters people from his past—encounters he's eager to avoid—the fragile peace of their sanctuary is threatened. The film explores how old connections and unresolved histories can disturb the stillness of an isolated life, examining themes of regret, friendship, and the spaces we create to escape the world.
