Enayi(1974)

Enayi is a Turkish romance film that follows Metin, a struggling painter who meets Filiz, a wealthy young woman from an affluent family. Unable to hold steady work, Metin survives by selling his paintings and eventually takes a job at the home where Filiz lives. He deliberately hides his humble background, introducing himself as a poor servant rather than revealing his true circumstances. As the two grow emotionally close, Metin unexpectedly begins working for Filiz's uncle Fethi at his company. Filiz works to keep their relationship secret, but when Fethi discovers the truth, he moves to tear them apart. The film explores class differences and the tension between love and family expectations in mid-twentieth-century Turkey.
