Nothing but Troubles(1954)

Nothing but Troubles is a Norwegian drama following the Bråten family, a working-class household cramped into a single room and kitchen in an Oslo tenement. Mother Hulda holds the family together while her withdrawn husband works in silence. Their three sons and two daughters are a constant source of neighborhood complaints—until police involvement in a car theft escalates tensions dramatically. Sixteen-year-old Maiken rebels against her stern father, gravitating toward questionable companions and drifting further from home. As conflict deepens and chaos mounts, a tragedy forces the fractured family to confront their bonds and find their way back to one another.
