Dangerous Intrigue(1936)

Dangerous Intrigue follows Anthony Halliday, a gifted surgeon whose career implodes after a hospital patient dies following complications from a delayed appendectomy. Forced to resign in disgrace, Halliday loses his fiancée Carol and suffers amnesia from the trauma. He drifts to Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he finds work in a steel mill under the assumed name John Davis. When he treats injured workers, his medical instincts resurface and his true identity awakens. The mill's doctor recruits him as an assistant. Halliday forms an unlikely friendship with Joe Kosovic, a demoted smelter boss, and is drawn to Gerta, Joe's schoolteacher daughter. As Halliday rebuilds his life far from New York's high society, he must confront whether redemption is possible and where his heart truly belongs.
