Time, Gentlemen, Please! is a British comedy about a small English village's desperate bid for perfection. The town of Hayhoe boasts near-total employment and expects a Prime Ministerial visit—until Dan Dance, a lovable old drinker and philosopher, threatens their spotless record. The Village Council schemes to move him into a centuries-old alms-house, binding him to rules written four hundred years prior. Their plan backfires spectacularly when a newly arrived Vicar uncovers a legal loophole: Dan is entitled to six thousand pounds annually from the village coffers. What begins as an attempt to hide one man's idleness becomes a comic battle of wills between tradition, bureaucracy, and an old rogue who knows how to work the system.
