Haters is a comedy film following Thomas the Lama, an internet humor star whose viral video spirals out of control, turning him into a target for online abuse. His life unravels as his girlfriend leaves and his audience turns against him. Desperate to rebuild his reputation and win back both his relationship and his fans, Thomas embarks on a bold plan: he tracks down his ten most vicious online detractors and confronts them in person. The film explores whether these keyboard warriors can defend their harsh words face-to-face, or if the real-world encounter will expose the gap between their online personas and their actual selves.
